$200.00
The lightweight and durable aluminum Laser frame is easier to pedal than steel, giving young riders the confidence to keep up with mom or dad. The 20-inch Laser actually offers two types of brakes: a standard rear coaster brake, which most youngsters are familiar with, and a rear V-brake which many are not. Having the rear coaster brake as a back-up allows youngsters to get used to hand-braking without going cold-turkey on the coaster brake they are comfortable with. The alloy rims are anodized black to provide even greater corrosion and rust resistance than the alloy already possesses, and the rim sidewalls are ground to provide a smooth braking surface for the rear V-brake. Jamis builds the Laser 2.0 wheels with 36 spokes in a 3-cross lacing pattern for strength and durability, and mounts knobby BMX tires that bite in the dirt but also feature a rounded profile that rolls smoothly on neighborhood streets and driveways.
